The North Freestyle Nationals took place at Cotton Tree Beach in Sunshine Coast on 28-29th of Jan, 2022.
After qualifying heats, both Carlos and Hayato made it to the finals. Despite choppy water conditions which makes freestyle particularly challenging, Carlos was on fire landing almost all his signature tricks and placed 3rd overall!! Hayato struggled to find his rhythm and placed 4th tied with our friend Nick.
Ewan Jaspan, the defending champion put on a show and once again became the Australian Freestyle Champion 2022, beating the up-and-coming Leo Verrecchia two years in a row.
